Holiday Motel

This was a perfect little place for my weekend trip! The room was larger than expected, very comfortable and clean. Great location for walking to most everywhere. The manager was very kind, and made sure to ask if I was comfortable each time I saw him. I will be happy to stay here again next time I visit.

Psst! Want to know a secret? It’s the Holiday Motel in Elko, NV. After seeing so many 5-star reviews for this 2-star motel, and the lowest rate in the area, I decided to give it a try. I first stayed here on 7/10/22. I’m back here today on 7/19 because it can’t be beat. $57 gets you a place to sleep, clean up, and it even has a mini-fridge with a real freezer! Not the standard type that has a tiny box inside of the fridge. (Don’t ask why, but that’s very important to me…) 9 out of 10 Hotels can’t even match that. How do Sonia and Dan do it? They are the sweetest couple of owners I’ve ever met and take great pride in their business. I think Dan told me the hotel is something like 100 years old. Other than the central air and the layout of the room, you can’t tell. There may be no way to adjust the temperature to your precise liking, but 72 degrees should be comfortable to most. Everything in the room seems recently remodeled and is very clean. Don’t get me wrong, if you’re picky, this may not be for you. There’s no continental breakfast or coffee maker in the room (research in-room coffee makers in hotels and tell me you genuinely want one), but it doesn’t matter. I feel like this place somehow exists in a prior era and forgot how to raise prices. I absolutely love it and the hosts who also run pretty much everything by themselves. Clean, quiet, friendly. I will stay no place else when staying in Elko. Honestly, the competition could learn a thing or two from this place. Is it possible to fall in love with a motel? I didn’t think so before but here I am again…

We were able to get a clean room on short notice, late at night. Beds were comfortable, and it was fairly quiet, so it was nice because it helped our kids stay asleep. Check-in and check-out was easy and quick. Easy to find and was easy to get back to the freeway. Would stay here again

This motel is like going back to the 1960s. It got good reviews so I booked one night just to check it out. The room key is old school as well as the furnishings. But it was very clean and comfortable. So I stayed two more nights. When arriving at the Amtrak stop, the owner drove over and picked me up. The only negative was the cold air blowing. The owner fixed that. Fun stay.

I like the old-style vibe, particularly the tile in the bathroom. Clean, quiet room. TV, microwave and fridge included. Host is incredibly friendly and offered recommendations on local attractions. No coffee maker but there are gas stations within walking distance. I would stay again.

This is a great place for the price. People who own the place are quite nice and very helpful. The rooms and outer area are very clean and the setup is very convenient for loading and unloading your car. Includes microwave and a good (one with separate freezer compartment) small refrigerator

I like the small family-ran motels. The owner takes pride in maintaining the property while keeping the price affordable. I'm OK with no coffee or continental breakfast with their price. There is some noise from street traffic, but it dies down at night. Nearby restaurants offer good food.

Such an amazing place. The rooms are very clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Great weekly rates and the location is very convenient. We stayed for 2 weeks and it was quiet our entire visit.
